Physical therapy plays a significant role in our current push towards a healthier society. We are discovering that the current model utilized in the United States is unsustainable, and if the COVID-19 pandemic has shown us anything it is that we cannot only provide treatment to only those in high income brackets. When one is sick, we all are sick.
This is where preventative medicine plays a huge role. With frequent, consistent evaluations by a healthcare professional and easy access at the onset of pain, expensive surgeries and life saving procedures can be largely avoided. Providing these preventative services up front can result in long term benefits for the patient.
This is the type of care we hope to provide to our communities. Our Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPTs) are trained in identifying the cause of musculoskeletal pain - and when it is necessary to seek treatment from an MD or other healthcare professional. Providing people the opportunity to take care of their bodies can allow them to keep marching on - in the fight for justice, in the fight for their jobs, or in the fight for their families.
